THC Hospital is empanelled under the General Insurers’ Public Sector Association (GIPSA), enabling eligible policyholders of participating public sector insurance companies to access cashless hospitalisation facilities.
Through the GIPSA Preferred Provider Network (PPN), patients can receive eligible medical and surgical treatment at pre-negotiated package rates, with approved hospitalisation expenses settled directly by their insurance provider.
Our team assists patients and their families with insurance documentation, pre-authorisation requests and claim-related formalities to make the hospitalisation process more convenient.
Eligible policyholders of these insurers may avail themselves of cashless hospitalisation at THC Hospital, subject to policy terms, network eligibility and approval from the respective insurance company or Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
Cashless hospitalisation allows patients with eligible health insurance policies to receive medical treatment without paying the approved hospitalisation expenses upfront.
Instead of paying the hospital and later filing a reimbursement claim, your insurance company or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) settles the approved amount directly with the hospital.
Cashless treatment is subject to your insurance policy’s terms, coverage limits, exclusions and approval from the insurer or TPA. Any expenses not covered by the policy must be paid by the patient.
We’ve outlined the cashless insurance process in a few simple steps to help you understand what to expect.
Consult a doctor at THC Hospital. If hospitalisation or a procedure is recommended, our insurance desk can guide you on the next steps for cashless insurance.
Provide your health insurance card, policy details, identity proof and other relevant medical documents to the hospital’s insurance desk.
THC Hospital submits a pre-authorisation request to your insurance company or TPA, including relevant medical details and estimated treatment expenses.
Your insurer or TPA reviews the request based on your policy’s terms and conditions. The request may be approved, partially approved, declined or referred for additional information.
Once the necessary medical and administrative arrangements are completed, treatment proceeds as advised by your doctor. In emergencies, urgent medical assessment and care will not be delayed while awaiting insurance approval.
At discharge, the hospital submits the final bill and supporting documents for settlement. The insurer or TPA settles the approved amount directly with the hospital, while any non-covered expenses or applicable deductions are payable by the patient.
To help ensure a smooth insurance approval process, please have the following documents ready.
No. Cashless hospitalisation depends on your insurance provider, policy coverage, hospital network arrangements and the type of treatment required. We recommend confirming eligibility before admission.
Not necessarily. Cashless insurance covers only those expenses approved by your insurer or TPA. Patients may need to pay for non-covered items, deductibles, co-payments, expenses exceeding policy limits and other applicable charges.
Approval timelines vary depending on the insurance company, type of admission, treatment recommended and completeness of documentation. Cashless approval can be applied up to 15 days in advance. For planned procedures, we recommend reaching out and initiating the process in advance.
Yes, emergency hospitalisation may be eligible for cashless treatment, depending on your policy and the insurer’s approval. Insurance formalities can be initiated in accordance with the applicable emergency admission process.
If your insurer declines the cashless request, THC Hospital’s insurance desk reapplies and works with the insurer to get the request approved, as much as possible. In case the request is not approved despite best efforts, you may need to pay the hospital expenses directly. Depending on your policy and the reason for rejection, you may be able to submit a reimbursement claim to your insurer later.
The insurance company will specify the approved amount. Any remaining charges not covered under your policy will need to be paid by you.
Coverage for outpatient consultations and diagnostic investigations depends on your insurance policy. Standard hospitalisation policies may not cover these expenses independently unless specific outpatient or diagnostic benefits are included.
Yes. For planned hospitalisation, initiating the pre-authorisation process in advance is recommended. This allows time for document verification and insurance approval before admission.
Our team prepares the documentation to secure the pre-authorisation for a cashless settlement, in line with your insurance policy. Final approval and the extent of coverage remain at the discretion of your insurer or TPA.
